We began offering our farm as a wedding venue during the summer of 2018 - it's been terrific. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a visit or talk by phone.
Pine Forest Campers enjoy a day of fun and learning at Old School Farm.
Our very large wood fired cob oven is made from a mixture of clay, sand, and straw. Fire bricks are used for the hearth to retain heat. Beneath them are empty wine bottles to hold even more heat. Our oven is large enough to bake between 10 - 15 loaves of bread at once, or 3 - 5 pizzas.
We built this oven ourselves by hand, harvesting fallen farm wall stone for the base and using local sand and clay for the earthen mixture. It is a very slow process to mix the clay and sand together with your feet ! We now know our hard work was very much worth it - our pizza is as good as is gets and we are now having lots of fun creating all sorts of topping combinations from our fresh farm ingredients.
Our Pizza Club events focus around the oven. We harvest from the garden and then prepare and enjoy authentic wood-fired farm pizza together. Here are some personal sized pies being loaded with a pizza peel into the oven...
